The Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) announced that the transitional period for Saudi domain names has been extended for the private sector and individuals for an additional three months ending on March 31, 2022 AD, indicating that the all transition procedures have been automated as shown at this link.
CST pointed out that the extension decision does not include government domains, which will be transferred to the Digital Government Authority according to its applicable procedures and controls. CST assured that the transition process does not affect the domain work or services, stressed that the information of the domain administrative coordinators should be updated to complete the transition process allowing registered users to transfer the Saudi domains ending with (.sa) or (.السعودية) to the licensed registrars, which provide Saudi domain registration services.
It is noteworthy that CST seeks to develop Saudi domain services and make them available through multiple channels in line with international trends and practices, by enabling the private sector to invest in this field and related services.
