Next March CST Launches Second Phase of Accreditation of Saudi Domain Name Registrars

Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) announced launch of Second Phase of Accreditation of Saudi Domain Name Registrars, which will open a room to accredit more private sector registrars to provide the service by next March, which would contribute to make available diverse options to the end user, increase competition and improve quality of rendered services.

CST looks forward to promote Saudi domain name market industry and associated services, and to create national tech companies specialized in internet and domain name services, and increase the widespread use of Saudi domain names.

CST confirmed that registrar accreditation to provide Saudi domain name registration services in KSA requires meeting a number of requirements, regulations and procedures that include eligibility criteria including inter alia, the applicant must be a local company and must be registered in Manassa Tech and must be working and expert in technical fields related to hosting services and providing e-services.

In addition, the applicant shall submit a detailed proposal outlining all aspects of the technical and marketing plan to meet the requirements. All requirements can be viewed via the website: www.nic.sa

It is worthy to mention that second phase is due to be launched to enable companies operating in IT sector to invest in Saudi domain names and associated services through provision of add-on and innovative services to users in KSA.
